Szymanowski Quartet is thrilled to announce many exciting projects around the world as a part of a the 200th anniversary of the birth
of Stanisław Moniuszko, Polish composer, conductor, organ player, educator, director of Warsaw’s Teatr Wielki, and the father of Polish opera.
Szymanowski Quartet is going to present his two string quartets: String Quartet No. 1 in D minor, and String Quartet No. 2 in F major. Both
works are juvenile compositions completed most propably in autumn 1839. They are characterised by simplicity and tunefulness typical of Moniuszko and from the stylistic point of view they remain
under the influence of Viennese classics.
